Is it really fair to hate Comic sans?

I use Comics Sans, I use it quite a lot. Even my logo is based on it.
But one thing I am so weirded out by is why is it so hated?
I use it in my videos, I use it in my art, I use it in my animation, and I don't really get it.
Yes, it is a terrible font to display on a document or using it as a primary font but is it really fair to hate Comic Sans for existing?
Should we let people use it without screaming at them?
What do you think?

I don't know, but I think most of the hate comes from "COMIC SANS IS SO HARD TO READ ON _^SMALL TEXT AAAAAA!!!"

you know, i was thinking about this today because i don't mind comic sans as much as the hate it got. i remember even putting the 'i hate comic sans' mini-clique on my site when i was a kid, just following a crowd. i think it probably had something to do with people wanting the web to be "legitimate" when folks were still learning about what it even was, but that's just my theory.

i just feel like i've seen it way too many times in way too many places, though i more just dislike it for that reason than outright hate it. there's other fonts i dislike for the same reason (ammonite is a good example, there's one other one i've seen a lot lately too but i can't remember the name)

I remember in school, comic sans was used for EVERYTHING, every school sign, every printout the teachers gave us, every notice. I disliked it because as a kid I felt it was condescending, I wanted to be given serious printouts like an adult! Now I quite like it

i think since its just a font its mass-ish hate is unjustified(i remember back in like 2016-2017 that people didnt really use it seriously nor did i know anyone who actually liked it n it being used as like a meme font) but if its something just like "oh i dislike how this font looks but its cool" its fine enough !!!
i can see how in workplaces it being used can be seen as annoying though :O mayb one reason is cuz its more like a fun bold font instead of a minimalism one!

In retrospect I'm really not sure why people hated comic sans. I didn't have any strong opinions on it until I saw that other people hated it, and then I just assumed they must know something I didn't and went ahead and hated it too. It was just... "uncool", I guess

These days I'm fond of it. The template I used when I was first making my website uses comic sans as the default font as a way to encourage you to change it, but I've kept it , I like the vibe it gives. Hopefully that I'm not taking myself too seriously

If I had to guess people hated it because it's the go-to childish font, but I like it. It's easy for me to read and I do a lot of writing with comic sans actually.

It's a font that's good for its designed purpose, just not everything else. But I just think of it as a font like any other, nonetheless.

Honestly it's more a meme than a true hate I believe. It's misused in professional context, overused in other contexts, and people love to group together on despising something. Personally I don't generally like its style but it's very useful on, say, invitations for primary school kid birthday parties. I remember using them in PowerPoint presentations when I was like 10 (along with Chiller lol!)
